Hope for marginalized people

Caring for each other as core quality

Gentle teaching presumes the individual qualities of people. As core quality of people we recognize the quality of caring for each other. In a domineering culture, this quality cannot flourish. This goes for people who feel marginalized as well as for the people who serve them.

We hope this website will inspire you to go for your heart and help others feel safe, loved, loving and engaged.

Royal decoration for John McGee

At the opening session of the 12th international gentle teaching conference in Troy (USA) on september 27 2011, mr Peter Verheyen, deputy consul general of the Netherlands, granted on behalf of her majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands a royal  decoration to John McGee. McGee is now Knight in the Order of Orange Nassau.

The decoration was granted to McGee for his work and efoorts to humanize the care for margenalized people around the world and the influance he had on the care for people with an intellectual disability in the Netherlands in particular. In his reaction, McGee amphasized that this award is not only for him as a person, but for all caregivers who are dedigated to gentle teaching and for the people they are serving.
