 Gentle Teaching

Unconditional relationship

the center of education and caregiving

In many cultures, both in education of children and caregiving for people with special needs, the focus often is on developing functional skills and modifying behaviors. Especially when the behavior of a child or adult is disapproved of, the strategies to modify the behavior often are domineering and oppressing.

Gentle Teaching doesn't focus on modifying behaviors or developing functional skills. Our main focus is on developing unconditional safe and loving relationships with children and adults who need our support. In these relationships we want to be able to support the persons when life is challenging for them and we want to help them develop their own strategies to deal with the challenges of life.

On this website you can read why we choose this strategy and how we develop these unconditional relationships.
